David Lansky directs the Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH) in its efforts to improve the affordability and availability of high quality health care. Since 2008, David has led the coalition of 65 large employers and health care purchasers representing over ten million Americans, including CalPERS, Wells Fargo, Intel, Safeway, Walmart, Boeing, and the University of California. A nationally-recognized expert in accountability, quality measurement and health IT, Lansky has served as a board member or advisor to numerous health care programs, including the National Quality Forum, Catalyst for Payment Reform, the Joint Commission, the National Patient Safety Foundation, the Leapfrog Group, and the Medicare Beneficiary Education Advisory Panel. He is now the purchaser representative on the federal HIT Policy Committee, and chairs its Strategy and Innovation Workgroup. He also serves on the Congressional Budget Office Health Advisors Panel, the Board of the Alliance for Health Reform, and as vice-chair of the Health Care Transformation Task Force. He is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed papers on outcomes research and quality measurement and holds a PhD degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
